Yes, but you can't call ALL (female) nurses drunk, dirty piss pot sluts based on your one experience of a few berks. I'm also sure, being who he is, a certain degree of hyperbole was employed? It’s not really in his interest under an NHS run ‘Labour’ government to give them good press is it…

(I notice he didn't attack male nurses of which there are plenty, ironic if you read yesterdays news).

As said my actual experience of nurses, a damn site more than his and yours (if I’m not mistaken? Without any sarcasm, please correct me if I’m wrong) is very different. That’s my being there on both sides of the fence. This topic of conversation, as I’m sure you’re aware, isn’t my usual fare so something he said must have stuck in my craw. Lord Toffee-Nosed Twat is simply not in a position to generalise like that. Incidentally, he made those comments on Radio 2 after he'd shot his gob off the backtracking buffoon.

Btw, my granddad who will be 101 in April has nothing but the utmost respect for the nursing profession after he came out of hospital recently (in N Yorkshire).

He attacked the women who stood at the nurse's station discussing who they fucked last night while he lay ill and a man lay dying. And he attacked the fact they went on about how pissed they got yesterday, and how pissed they were planning on getting that night. I do the same if I was in a bed ill (the man wasn't well, it wasn't a fucking toothache that landed him in hospital) and had to listen to a couple of disinterested scrubbers banging on about who they let fuck 'em and how much they drink on a night out. I don't want to listen to the stilted, fuckwit conversation of your average twentysomething when I'm on a bus, let alone when I'm hammering on Death's door in an MRSA-infested fleapit. Why should anyone have to put up with that, and why the fuck aren't they allowed to vocalise it? As he said on Radio 2, this wasn't an attack on nurses or the NHS, it was what happened when he found himself seriously ill in hospital. If your grandad told you the self-same story, you'd be on here ranting about filthy nurses nearly killing the old boy.

And 'Lord Haw-Haw' is clever, well done. Let's make out a man complaining about the shit time he had in hospital is a buffoon by giving him a comedy lord's name. You wouldn't, I believe, have ranted about this if the patient had been some hard done-by dock worker. Shooting fish in a barrel, y'think?

Our man in Paris, sorry, yes. I meant that

NC, sorry you've had bad experiences of nurses, I too have been in hospital a few times (I worked as an auxiliary in a few hospitals in London, some in very deprived areas, so I’ve seen it from both sides) and, on the whole, I’ve not a bad word to say about them.

My main problem with Lord Haw Haw is, if you read his comments, that, largely, he doesn’t actually criticise the Nurses for their work, instead he attacks them as women. He calls them dirty, drunkards and promiscuous, things confined to their lives outside of their working hours.

As for Labour? There is no 'Labour' anymore.

His complaint had fuck-all to do with his politics or his title, and everything to do with what happened to him in that hospital. For instance, the man to his left who was allowed to die alone in a room full of people because the nurses were too busy with their hangovers at their station to come check on him. Or the bed-pan that sat under his bed for three days unemptied, despite his asking for it to be removed. What's wrong with pointing these things out? You fucking would.

How dare he criticise the nurses? Why shouldn't he? He was a patient in an NHS hospital - complaining about the shoddy shit that happened to him is his right whatever his position in society or his politics - he pays for it, same as you. A lot of hospitals are a fucking shambles nowadays - commenting on that shambles is not the exclusive right of the belt 'n' braces Labour brigade.

I'm still fuming from the time my missus was in Lincoln hospital, and, among the myriad of shitty things that went on, we sat and watched the nurses ignore an old woman in severe pain for hours. I pointed this out to one of the slovenly little madams, and was informed the old lady was a 'pain in the arse' and they'd get round to her 'once she stopped pressing that button'. Y''know? The one you press to get the nurse's attention when you're in pain?. Yes, very caring.

Or should I not be allowed to say this, seeing as I don't vote Labour, comrade?
