i’m 28 and even i remember what it felt like to be governed by a bunch of people who made no effort to disguise their complete utter hatred for 95% of the population. it kills me to think of young voters now, imagining a Tory vote to be somehow a vote against the establishment.

i’ve lived in places like Bournemouth, i know how spiteful and racist those blue rinsed bastards really are….like UKIP, they’re basically the political wing of the BNP.

Yes, Piqued, I totally agree – the tories are a force to be repelled at all costs, Kenneth Baker and many others have shown that down the years. I’m just disappointed that Labour have become so disconnected from ground level these days. I will be voting when the general election comes, and it will be tactical. My knee-jerk reaction to your post was perhaps hasty, I’m just so broke at the moment it’s addling my mind! Thus endeth my political rant.

Watch out for my own blog which I hope will be online soon ; tales from the countryside, aaarrrr…. (ooberdoober is just an interim pseudonym… )

I’ll have a word with my ‘Boss’, I’m sure that he can get you all comfortable seats with a good view. He does a great deal on barbeques which is handy, with the bank holiday weekend and all.

I agree in principle, but if you’re going to vote, the only thing to do is ensure that the worst possible outcome doesn’t happen. Yet it has.

I agree to an extent, Labour have sold the working class down the fucking canal… but the Tories are beyond excrement

Last election around I wanted to go for Lib Dem but fearful that my vote would get ‘lost’ I voted tactically for Labour…

Finally, I’m not too keen on the Tories.

Forgive me for barging in on this Sir P, but I am a long time lurker of your blog and I fully agree with your comments re. tory scum, and being a similar age to you I fully recall how the gorgeous Mrs T utterly fucked the 80s for me and most of the country – but I’ve got to say that Labour have shafted me utterly over the last few years to the point where I will NEVER vote for the sods again. That’ll teach me to be a working class bloke on a working class wage I suppose, and yet when I voted red back in 1997 I expected a whole new dawn of prosperity… not having to work round the clock AND start thinking about getting a 2nd job just to make fucking ends meet. Now you’ve bloody got me started, I’m going outside for a scream….
